Easter

January 8, 2016 by director Leave a Comment

Easter is the oldest and most important festival of the Church, and for over 2000 years, the life of the Church has centered on it.  Just as the resurrection of our Lord is the center of our Faith, so it is the high point of the Church Year.  We prepare for it in Lent and now we set aside six weeks to mediate on its meaning to the Christian life.  During this time we are reminded that through faith, Jesus’ death and resurrection are our death and resurrection.  In Him we have died to sin and risen to new life, thus Baptism is a recurring theme during the Easter season, along with the joy and fruits of the Christian life.

Alleluia! Christ, our Passover is sacrificed for us.  Therefore let us keep the feast.  Alleluia!
